In Chesca’s school, they were learning about different parts of the house and what they’re used for. A few months back, the entire class would have a field trip every week to a student’s house. On the 1st week, they visited the dining room, 2nd week-bedroom, 3rd week-bathroom.
The entire class would first gather in the living room to set some house rules. Of course the teachers wouldn’t want any accidents to happen in the house or anything to be broken. So they’re told to always use their “walking feet” because no running is allowed.
Then they go to the part of the house that’s being discussed in class for the week. After the discussion, kids end up playing in the bedroom of the owner (student) of the house. After 10-15 minutes of playtime, they all gather to the dining room to eat their lunch. Kids enjoy eating together!
I’m happy with the school as it tries to really show kids actual things that are being taught in school. During this particular month, Chesca kept going around the house and saying what kind of room she was in and what it’s for.
I’ll be posting more toddler activites. Watch out for field trips about “transportation”. Riding the jeepney, trip to fun ranch, and even going to an actual helicopter.
I’m the type of person who rarely puts on make-up. Why?
1. I’m too lazy to go through the millions of different make-up stuff. And I can’t stand foundation on my face daily.
2. I don’t know how to put on make-up! (hahaha, this should be my #1 reason)
3. I don’t like the feeling of having too much stuff on my face.
4. I’m the type who’s on the go and doesn’t have much time to spend in the dressing room.
5. I know if I start getting into it, it can lead to a very expensive hobby.
6. Gives my kids more stuff to play with and destroy!
I used to just put powder and lipgloss. Then I tried “getting into make-up” and bought some brushes for foundation, powder, stiffling, & blush. Gosh! I never knew brushes could be that expensive! Anyway, I tried doing the whole make-up thing for a couple of weeks and it just really wasn’t for me. I got too LAZY! (using diff brushes, make-up, cleaning them, and even cleaning my face was double the work) So all the brushes and make-up I bought were kept for special occasions. I had no patience to do it on a daily basis. So to all those who do the entire make-up thing daily, I salute you! It’s a skill 🙂
But recently, I found this perfect applicator, the Beauty Blender. It’s the only thing I need to put on any type of make-up. So I use it to put on blush, conceal, or highlight. And let me tell you, it really blends well without getting your fingers dirty. I found out about this product a little too late!
Now, I love this product as it gets me made up in a couple of minutes putting some color on my face. At least the make-up I bought didn’t go to waste :-). Works like a charm!
Here’s more about the product:
Modernize the way you make up
Now you can look like a movie star without the pricey services of a major make up artist. Introducing Beautyblender, the ultimate make up sponge applicator. Invented by top Hollywood make up artists Rea Ann Silva and Veronica Lorenz, Beautyblender has been created to leave you with a professional finish and a flawless complexion. Silva and Lorenz know that the key to a perfect face is simple: a perfect blend. So forget your fingers or sharp-edged triangular sponges, these application methods waste make up and can leave visible streaks.
Beautyblender’s patent-pending elliptical shape makes application foolproof by allowing you to access hard-to-reach areas with stunning ease. Its suede texture is sensual to the touch and its unique curves fit the contours of your face, leaving your make up dazzling and undetectable. Beautyblender is latex free, non-allergenic and odor free.
Made in USA
Directions: Blend your way to a flawless face! Seeing make up is the first sign of an amateur application. Beautyblender was created without edges in order to eliminate visible lines and streaks. So go ahead, experiment fearlessly with your Beautyblender and discover the many ways its unique shape will set you free!
Bounce Beautyblender against your face when applying make up. Bouncing, called stippling in the make up world, blends make up without creating changes in the texture or tone of your skin. Use Beautyblender’s pointed side for hard-to-reach spots like around the nose and mouth, and under the eyes. Use the round base for foundation and blush on the larger areas of your face such as your forehead, cheeks and chin.
If you apply make up with your fingers you’ll find that Beautyblender will smooth and refine your make up to provide a clean finish.
Use Beautyblender damp when applying wet/dry make up. When Beautyblender is wet it is normal for it to expand to nearly twice its original size. Wash after use and place in the Beautyblender insert pedestal to dry. You can also put Beautyblender in the Beautyblender pouch and toss it in the dryer. Be sure to use an air-dry setting; Beautyblender should not come in contact with extreme heat of any kind.
If you have problem skin Beautyblender works to cover blemishes. Use the pointed end and the stipple and twist technique to work make up into depressed areas of the face. The stippling and twisting action feathers out the makeup’s edges, leaving a perfect finish.
The past few months, I tried using Neutrogena Hydro Boost Essence as my day and night moisturizer. And I started to use their ultra sheer sunblock too for days I know I’d be exposed to the sun.
First, my experience with the Essence. It’s water based so it feels very light. I love products that are watery coz they don’t give the sticky thick feeling on your face. But then I noticed it had quite a sting on my face after applying it on. It felt a bit strong for my skin. But I still continued to use it day and night on my face and neck. After a couple of weeks, I started to break out a bit. Maybe it was a way for my skin to tell me that the product isn’t the right fit for me. It costs 999Php for a 30ml bottle. So I’m not just about ready to give it up and still giving it a chance 🙂 It comes in a pump which is a plus on hygiene, and the packaging looks really refreshing.
You’ll need only a pump or two for applying it on your entire face and neck. Since it’s watery, a small amount will go a long way. I’ve had this bottle for almost 3 months and there’s still some product left in it.
It’s definitely better than the Pond’s night cream I blogged about before.
Overall, this Essence really hydrates your skin. It keeps my skin moisturized the entire day without leaving it oily. I may have had a few minor breakouts (like 1-2 tiny zits) but up to this day I’m not sure if the product is what caused it. The product is worth a try. It might be the right fit for you. It’s available in SM department stores.
Here’s a little more information about the product:
-The essence progressively releases moisture to keep skin constantly hydrated for as much as 12 hours. (so true)
-Intense formula comprised of hyaluronic acid and olive extract provides as much as three times your skin’s natural moisture level within an hour of application. (maybe it’s this acid that’s a bit strong for my skin that’s why I felt like there’s a little bit of alcohol feeling after application).
Oh and by the way, this hydro boost line comes in 5 steps:
Step 1: Cleasing with Hydro Boost Mousse Cleanser.
Step 2: Toning with Hydro Boost Clear Lotion.
Step 3: Moisturize your skin with Hydro Boost Essense.
Step 4: Double up moisture with Hydro Boost Water Gel.
Step 5: Pamper your skin with Hydro Boost Mask.
I know, 5!? Well, I’m not the type who has the patience to do all those 🙂
So I just got the Essence for the main purpose of moisturizing my skin to prevent wrinkles and keep it soft as much as possible. And I guess I just believed my derma when she said all these steps of the beauty lines are all marketing strategies. You may have your own opinions but I’m just sharing what I follow.
Dra. Huang (derma) said the only thing you need is to keep your skin clean. So I use Cetaphil facial wash. Then if I do have any make-up on, I follow it up with the Neutrogena alcohol-free toner which is very rare! Then I use a moisturizer afterwards. That’s it for me! And so far, it’s been working well. Haven’t really had any major skin problems.
Then let me go on to my first facial sunblock experience. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer complete UV waterlight lotion
This product I swear by. It’s just so light. It also serves as a moisturizer for the day. After I step out of the shower, I just put this on like a normal moisturizer (face and neck). They’re true to their word when they say it’s sheer. It really gives this smooth soft feeling afterwards. Not like the other facial sunblocks out there that are too thick, sticky, and leaves your face with a different color! I tried the cetaphil facial sunblock with spf 15 and its more on the heavy side.
So when the sun is out, I use this sheer sunblock with spf 50. I just love this product.
What about you, what moisturizers have you been trying lately?
Happy New Year!!! I know it’s so delayed but then again, it’s just in time for Chinese New Year!!! So, Kung Hei Fat Choi!!! 🙂
It’s been quite a while since I last posted anything. So this 2012, I’ll try to post regularly regarding our so called Little Experiences 🙂
Anyway, let me move on to our Sky Lantern experience. Since we’re not into fireworks, we decided to try out having sky lanterns fly last new year. It was our first time to even try it out. My brother helped us out as I din’t want to risk burning myself!
You’ll need to hold the lantern for a few minutes until it gets hot before you could actually let go of it and let it fly on its own.
It was so interesting to actually see the lantern fly. The kids had a great time watching it.
I loved the kids’ reaction, which made me buy MORE lanterns!!! Was able to buy them at cash cash pinoy for 375Php for 5 pieces.
