Rick and I had lunch yesterday. It was one of the hottest, sunniest days I’ve ever experienced lately. The scorching heat of the sun really ruins a nice date.
Anyway, we ended up at Cafe 1771 in El Pueblo. We were targeting for EDSA Shangri-La but we didn’t have enough time as we had to pick up Chesca from school. We only had 1 hour for lunch.
So what did we eat?
The waiter recommended their house specialty chicken. So we gave that a try. It was delicious! It was half a chicken, so they don’t scrimp on their portions.
The salad was good too. We actually ordered that before already so we decided to try it out again. A serving of salad is quite big. The one you see on the picture was already split in two.
I didn’t even get to eat the pasta anymore coz I was too full. We took it home for the kids. Lexi loved the pasta! That’s all she ate for dinner. Non-stop chewing! We were also able to take home some of the leftover chicken and that’s what Chesca had for her “baon” the next day. She too loved it!
Oh and let’s not forget their House Blended Iced Tea. Quite pricey at 130Php for just a glass filled with ice. But I didn’t care coz it was really HOT outside and we were seated by the window. So a glass of Iced Tea was really necessary! It tasted great anyway. So kinda worth it. By the way, the only thing I didn’t like is that it didn’t come with a straw! I don’t like drinking iced tea without a STRAW! It just tastes better if you sip it. Well, for those who don’t know (like me), Pasig City implemented a no straw ordinance for restaurants in the city. So if you’re like me, have a straw handy in your bag. HAHAHA!
Cafe 1771, definitely a place TO EAT!
