To Eat or not to Eat – Walt’s Cafe

We arrived Hongkong Disneyland Hotel at 7pm.  We ordered in food for the kids, let them rest and clean up.  Rick and I were planning to go to Citygate Mall to get some supplies and eat there but we were told by the time we’d get there, the mall would be closed.  So we ended up eating dinner at Walt’s Cafe at the hotel.

A bit pricey but thank God the food was good.  Rick had a burger and I had pasta.  We were just too tired and would eat anything!

Dinner at 9pm

They served their softdrinks in a tiny karaf.  Maybe so that we don’t see it comes from 3/4 of a can or a big coke bottle and cover up for the pricey glass of coke!

The small karaf looks something like this. Where they put the coke in. It's just about 5 inches tall! But then it works and gives an impression the drink is expensive 🙂

We also ate lunch here with the kids during our last day.  They had Hainanese Chicken set menu which they said tasted yummy.

To save time and energy, we would recommend this restaurant when staying at Disneyland Hotel but if you had more time and energy to spend, there are cheaper options at the park.

Packing for a 3 day trip with 2 toddlers

We recently took a vacation for 3 days.  It was my first time to pack for 2 toddlers.  I started packing 4 days in advance little by little so that I didn’t end up forgetting anything and making it stress free.  So everyday whatever I’d remember to bring, I’d set aside and put in the luggage.

I set aside 2 medium sized luggages thinking that was enough for 3 adults and 2 kids.  Also had 2 hand carry totes for food and the other for toys.

But in the end, I still threw in  a hand-carry luggage for everything to fit.

One of the bigger bags had the kids’ clothes, fresh milk, diapers, and shoes.  And it was full!

2nd medium sized luggage had clothes and toiletries for 2 adults and the kids’ princess gowns!

Then the 3rd hand carry sized luggage had Rick’s clothes.  It was only half filled so we had a little space left for taking home some “pasalubong”.

Here's what was inside the 2 medium sized luggages we brought.
2 hand carry totes that were hung on the 2 strollers. Water, Milk, Extra Clothes, wipes, bibs for eating, snacks, and Toys (coloring books, crayons, blocks, etc.) to keep the kids behaved during the flight.

For some weird reason, I still ended up packing at 3am.  I don’t know why, but it happens to me ALL THE TIME!  No matter how early I pack, I end up sleeping late the night before our flight.  Weird.

But for sure, if you’re packing for 2 toddlers, it would be twice as much and heavy as your own.

We made sure to bring medicines (for fever, cough, colds, nebules, allergy, vitamins), a portable nebulizer, blanket & pillow cases for the kids (might be allergic to down pillows) and their own small pillows for naps on the plane and stroller.

So you can really imagine how much stuff two little kids would need on a short trip!  But then again, everything was worth it 🙂

Happy packing on your summer vacation!

Midnight Snack

While Rick was having a few drinks with his friend at Chili’s, I had my own version of relaxing.

Getting my midnight snack while listening to their conversation.

I was happy just drinking my decaf latte and eating my Chocolate Belgian Waffle.

Nothing to think about just eating and drinking my way through the night.  Comfort Food!  Try it!
