Pregnancy Munches: Some good + some bad

I added a new category…Pregnancy Munches.  Just sharing the food this preggo (that’s me!) has been shoving down her throat!

Yesterday, I got hungry in the middle of the night.  And being the lazy person I am, I didn’t want to prepare anything and just got what was convenient.  The milk balanced out the sweets!  🙂

Low Fat milk, 3 Oreo cookies, & a Nantucket chocolate chip cookie.

I’ll do better next time, I promise.

It’s such a challenge to keep eating healthy food!

What about you, what have you been eating when you were pregnant?

Back to the old Garage Kiddie Party!

There are some kids who don’t enjoy extravagant parties or kiddie parties with too much people.  Lexi’s one of them.  So for her birthday this year, we had a simple “old school garage party”.

Converted garage into the pool party area.  Inflatable pools can be bought in Toys R Us or Toy Kingdom for 300-2,000Php depending on the size.  I already had the biggest (upper left) and smallest (lower right) pools and boat.  Borrowed 2 more pools from friends.  So din’t need to buy anything.  M&M inflatable orange seats was free from purchasing M&M products in Duty Free.
Pools being tested out by the celebrant.  I added a tent, some plastic horses, and inflatable penguin for for kids to play with.
Also had bikes on the side for kids to have more choices of outdoor fun!
We put tables and chairs outside to be able to watch kids swim.  Had a few refreshments and snacks (wafer sticks, marshmallows, chocolates, crackers).  Bought cloth (14 yards total / diff colors) from Fabric Warehouse for a colorful summer feel which cost P700.  This was also used to cover up all the stuff in the garage.  Cloth can be reused for another event in the future.
Main food served inside the house to keep flies and mosquitos away.  Not to mention it was too hot outside.  This was also a contingency plan in case it rained.  Simple food was served, all favorites of the celebrant.  Ended the day with a Happy Birthday song and cake blowing.

Food:

Purefoods Drumettes – drumsticks without the bone.  It ended up looking like big chicken nuggets but it tasted good.

French fries – home made.

Snacks – Goldfish crackers, Marshmallows, Caramel Popcorn, Sticko.

Carbonara – spaghetti and twist pasta were used.

Pizza Hut – Veggie Pizza, Hawaiian, & Super Supreme (some had cheese crust stuffing).

Inutak and Ferinos Bibingka – Filipino delicacies for dessert aside from the cakepops and cupcakes.

To sum it up…The celebrant’s “wants” were prioritized and she had a blast!!!

So who said you need to stress out yourself in preparing for your toddler’s birthday?  Sometimes we have to set aside what we as parents want and really do things that makes your toddler happy.  It’s their birthday anyway 🙂

Fab Finds: Go Green with Spoiled Eco Bags

It’s time to do our share to keep our environment clean for our children’s future.

Try to bring eco bags with you at all times so that you can put stuff you bought at the mall or grocery in it.  This minimizes the use of plastic and saves their paper bags too.

With this little gesture, it will go a long way.

Spoiled, the baby and  me store, is giving out free eco bags!!!

Go grab your bag now!  Time to Save Mother Earth.  Reuse.  Recycle.

Spoiled is located at Robinson’s Galleria, L3 Jumpstreet Wing.

Simple Pleaures: Afternoon Coffee with a Friend

Last Saturday afternoon, while the kids were asleep,  I had coffee with a friend at Starbucks, The Grove.

It was the first time I’ve been to that place.  It looked so peaceful.  Great thing about it is that there’s not much people, and there’s parking!  It really made me feel relaxed in the middle of the afternoon.  Just what I needed.

Seems very relaxing, right?

After having coffee, we dropped by Sunrise Buckets beside it and bought some chicken wings to bring home for Rick.  It tasted different from the others he normally eats.  I’ll write about that the next time we get to eat those wings again 🙂

So if you want a relaxing place to go to, try driving by The Grove along Libis, Q.C.  Not much establishments there yet (just has starbucks, sunrise buckets, and a japanese burger steak resto) but great for coffee and hanging out.

Pregnancy Cravings: Raisinets

Last week, I started eating Raisinets!

I never really liked them till I saw them again at the grocery store.

I’ve been munching on these every night for the entire week now!  oh good luck to my next doctor’s check-up.  The 4lbs a month might be exceeded!  Yikes!

Trying to justify this craving…good source of antioxidants, and check out the front….LESS FAT!  😛
