Have you flown Emirates Airlines? Did you have a pleasant flight? Well, I did!
It was my first time to fly Emirates during my trip to Europe. My itinerary was Manila-Dubai (with 4 hrs layover)-Paris and Rome-Dubai (4 hr layover again)-Manila. To better show you my experience is to share with you some pictures. As the old saying goes…A picture paints a thousand words 🙂
Got to the airport 2hrs before my flight. Long line for economy class back there…Thank God I checked-in online to save me from the horrendous line. Web checked-in passengers get to line up in business class=NO LINE! YIPEE!We boarded right on schedule! The usual headphones and blanket available. But I prefer bringing earphones. That drink is a favorite iced tea of mine from Kopi Roti near the boarding gate.Emirates has a menu ready on each seat. At least you know what they’ll be feeding you. This was a great snack to keep me going while making our itinerary.Food was surprisingly good! It was something different from other airlines. What I really loved was that they gave real utensils. Don’t you just hate eating with plastic utensils?Custom made water and chocolate bar (inside the cup).
2nd leg of the flight menuYummmm I love breakfast food! And they served croissants to get us ready for Paris! hehe…Beef rendang on my way back home to Manila. I think these should be the real portions we should be eating for each meal to avoid gaining too much weight! At night, lights are dimmed and night lights are turned on for a more conducive sleeping atmosphere.
I loved how spacious the headroom was. No need to dunk every time someone gets bags from overhead bin. And you just won’t get that cramped feeling.another view of the “stars”Individual screens and charging socket. The socket was so helpful! My iPhone never ran out of batt 🙂Their planes have sooo much movies and videos. I wasn’t even able to use my iPod (I brought my own series to watch) throughout the flight. I discovered this new tv series! Not only that, no more magazines to flip as it’s all in here! Talk about the art of technology. It’s not just home tv shopping but air tv shopping 😛Hurray! done with the 1st leg of my trip. Welcome to Dubai! This view is from the gates.Go through security.First time I’ve seen these. Trays go on a trolley to automatically go back for passengers to use.Train to gates for connecting flights.Inside the train. Saw so many Filipinos. It just felt like home!As you get off the train, you’ll ride this escalator to go to the gates. You’ll find coffee shops around the airport.Yes, this is inside the airport! Really nice! And there it is…the shopping floor. They had everything here. From food, jewelry, watches, electronics, clothes, accessories, and a lot of brands, high end and signature.I arrived at 12 midnight and I was scared to be staying at the airport for 4 hours thinking it would be like Incheon airport that nothing was open. This was the complete opposite. On my way back home, I didn’t even have time to eat coz I was going around the shops.several rests around so if you get hungry while waiting for boarding, you don’t have to worryFor layovers 4hrs and more, they give you a free meal!Oh yes, a free meal! You just need to claim it from the info desk. There are several restaurants around the airport where you can claim this free meal. I claimed mine in the nearest resto from my boarding gate. This is what the resto looks like. It has LCD TVs with flight updates around the resto to make sure you don’t miss your flight. This was my nook as I ate my midnight snack or early morning meal. The couch on this booth was huge. I nearly laid down and took a nap, I was just too shy. They had nice comfort rooms. Very clean and spacious. You can take the trolley all the way inside the cubicle.Another nice feature if you have a child in tow, is the free use of strollers inside the airport. How convenient is that!?After 4 hours, finally it was boarding time. There’s the plane that’ll take us to our final destination….Paris!
Conclusion:
Overall experience was good. I would fly Emirates again, and I would recommend it. Economy class sure doesn’t feel like it. They give you that “special” feeling in their own little way.
