Trick or Treat 2012

This is a super delayed post.  I just wasn’t able to get to it till now.  My kids love halloween mainly because of the costumes.  We’ve had fairies, princesses, disney princesses, and animals.

This year it was inspired by Disney Movies: Brave and Tangled.  Thanks to their Grandma, costumes were provided for 🙂  She was able to get these at a Disney store in L.A.

Tangled and Pumpkin
Rapunzel loved her hair!  Really long, bright, shiny, blonde hair.  And our little pumpkin was very comfortable in her soft carter’s cotton frog suit, bib, and bonnet.  No complaints from her.
Our little Brave girl had some problems though. She didn't like her wig! She saw the blonde, long, straight hair of Rapunzel and wanted that instead of her curly red wig :-)

After a long time of convincing, she finally agreed to wear her wig!Doesn’t she look like a doll!? I think the wig suits her 🙂
giving candies
So the trick or treating in the village begins and they get ready on their “thrones”.  Candies were prepared in a basket I bought from Divisoria.   The girls love giving out candies more than going around houses trick or treating.
time to ask for candies
But of course, they still went to a couple of houses to ask for candies  just for the experience.  I don’t really let them eat candies, so they gave all the candies they got to their nannies 🙂
dogs too
Dogs do trick or treat too!

It was a long afternoon.  They started giving away candies from 3-5pm.  The bad thing about these costumes, they were a bit hot to wear outside.  So we had to bring out an electric fan to keep them from perspiring excessively and getting sick.

So basically, our Halloween trick or treating was more of sitting and giving candies to other kids than going around villages. We were on the other side of the excitement.  My kids were so happy when they’d see the other kids so happy the moment they put candies in their halloween baskets/containers.

For this year, we have no idea yet what costumes to wear.  But for sure, we’d be doing more of giving away candies again 🙂

Have you thought of your kids’ costumes this coming Halloween???

My “feeling under the weather” power breakfast

Today, I woke up with a clogged nose and a bit of a sore throat.  Some strong virus has been going around our household.  I was just finished being on antibiotics due to cough last week as well as my eldest daughter.  Then early this week, one of our nannies got a bad cold and cough.  Today, it’s me, my two girls, and another nanny down with the virus.

So it’s as if we’re passing it on to each other.  But then again, it could have come from school or anywhere we went to for that matter.

Anyway, when I feel under the weather, I eat a full breakfast.  Why?  I don’t know, maybe just psychological I need more power to survive the day.  My normal breakfast is just a cup of coffee.

But today, it was this…

power breakfast. I know it's a bit of an unhealthy breakfast coz of the hotdogs :-)
My so called power breakfast. I know it’s a bit of unhealthy coz of the hotdogs–it’s just that red hotdogs are just so appealing 🙂  When I feel under the weather, I drink fresh orange juice to feel that I get my Vitamin C the natural way!  Then there’s my cup of coffee for some boost.

Hoping this would give me more energy…

Were you able to get your power breakfast today?

It’s Friday and wishing everyone a great last day of the work week 🙂

Keeping my iPhone alive

Since I maximize my iPhone, the battery would only last half a day, Boo!!!

I’ve experienced days wherein I get caught in the middle of traffic, waiting for kids in school, or in a middle of a phone conversation, where my phone shuts down on me. No more batt!  And it sucks big time.  You have this great phone with so much things to do, but so little time to actually use it!

They should’ve made a phone that would last an entire day.

Well, enough ranting, as it won’t solve anything.  But I found something that would!

power bank
This power tube is very handy that it could fit into a pouch in my bag.

Meet my solution.  2600 power tube.  This can charge the iPhone to 100%.

I plug my iPhone into this power tube (others call it a power bank) during the latter half of my day and it lasts me till midnight.  Just in time for me to get home and charge the phone again.  I bought this in Travel Club in Rockwell.  There are other brands and versions.  Make sure the output you get is 5v, and that it’s charging capacity is enough for your phone.

Even CD-R King sells these types of power banks.  Saw one for only 220Php earlier today, but then again, I’m not sure if it will do more harm than good for your phone since normally China products don’t have that much Quality Control compared to branded items.

I got one with a reputable name just to be sure my iPhone was safe.  I didn’t want to risk it.  I’m happy with it, been using it for months and it’s been my lifesaver.  No more missed emails, missed calls, lost opportunity with clients and customers, and most of all, communication line with my kids is always available 🙂

So for on-the-go moms like me, I suggest you get yourself one of these power tubes/banks to make sure you don’t run out of battery.

My love for NUTELLA

My dear sister sent me a big bottle of Nutella.  She claims that the Nutella from Canada is way much better and is very different from the Nutella being sold in Manila.

Nutella from canada + Pretzels from U.S
Nutella from my Canada (sis) + Pretzels from U.S (mom)=perfect combination! …I feel the love!!!

And so the moment I got it, tried it right away.  And yes, it does taste a bit different.  It has a stronger hazelnut taste to it and I think it’s creamier.  The one here is chocolatier.  I love both..I’m not picky when it comes to Nutella 🙂

This is one of my go to snacks to make me happy!

What’s yours? 🙂
